I don't mind exams. Despite the fact that they're meaningless and that tested content will have little and/or limited use in our future careers, I see why they're necessary and thus bear with them. They're a necessary evil, just like so many other things we bear in this world. But I still don't like studying for them. Sadly I'm not the kind of person who's "enlightened" enough to see through the system and courageously break free of it, so I guess I'll have to continue living within it, working within it, and bearing all the resultant necessary and even unnecessary evils that it's inundated with.
To that end, a slight adjustment in my mindset would seem appropriate. Here goes: Studying for tests is laying the foundations for my future. It is only by studying hard that I'll be able to get into a good uni, which will get me a good career path and a good life. Thus studying should be my topmost priority and take precedence over all that I love and enjoy to do.
Blah. I don't normally believe in self-deception but if you can actually convince yourself that it's true, and it does make life easier for yourself, then why not, right? The crucial part lies in actually convincing yourself, though.
